Digitally Imported is the name of the site. It is by far one of the best online radio. Di.fm is mostly focused on electronic music. The website also has other non electronic genres through sky.fm. When you get on the website, choose a particular station and it opens up in your itunes or whatever music player you have and you are all set. Some of my favorite stations are, soulful house, goa-psy trance, chillout dreams and da tempo (which is through sky.fm) I am starting to lean more towards this station nowadays than pandora.com. I feel pandora.com has too many advertisments in between songs. I don’t pay for either of these stations (di.fm and pandora statio) and I can tell you di.fm has hardly any advertisments. Do check it out, if you are looking to discovering and exploring new good music. Click here to start listening.
Here is brief statement about the company from their website.
“Digitally Imported is a multi-channel Internet radio service specializing in Electronic Dance Music genres. Filling a global niche for this type of music made it among the most popular internet radio stops on the internet since the late 1999.
All our channels are offered in three streaming formats: Mp3, Windows Media, and aacPlus formats. You can listen to any of the channels for free, or go Premium for super high quality and 100% commercial free.
The website and concept was started by Ari Shohat with just the initial Trance channel. Since then, DI has grown into something much larger and far more popular than originally conceived. We also have expanded our team greatly, with about a dozen people involved in the project.
The company behind the service, Digitally Imported, Inc, is a for profit corporation. However, we are honored to say that we owe our success to our dedicated fans who spread the word about what we do, and also to the great many talented individuals who dedicate their time to make DI a better place for all its fans.”
